Guilded Guitar by Skyejcb Guilded Guitar by Skyejcb
At long last, the guitar for Laura Graf ([link]) is complete!

The mendhi design was applied with metal leafing in various colors, and the painting was done in acrylic.

This heirloom guitar belongs to Austin, TX musician & singer, Laura Graf ([link]).

The guitar is not playable due to neck warping from years of storage and moving about the country. However, Laura's sentimental attachment to this instrument prompted her to commission me to make it into a hangable art piece.

Beautiful! Reminds me of my fiddle! I had an old fiddle lying around, given to me by my grandfather in Ireland before he passed, and It was unplayable, so I painted it, and decorated it with feathers and charms, and now It hangs from my wall, and looks like a fiddle that a gypsy would play. :D

Great work though!! I love your creativity! Keep up the good work!

No need for apologies - I'd much rather have a solid critique than not! :)

Yes, its very pretty, but have you considered what on Earth you have done to the tone of the guitar? Overpainting and laminating instruments made of wood diminishes their sound quality and...oh nevermind.

The most eyecatching part of the piece is easily the gold burst sections, particularly the area around the bottom, below and around the bridge, is that meant to be a butterfly hidden in there? Thats what I see.

Nice work, just a pity, I imagine the guitar will sound horrible now.

Please read the description here: [link]

I should have included that in the comments here originally - thanks for making me realize that I had forgotten to add that, since it's an important factor to know.
